These micro garnets are a beloved Tucson specialty, naturally concentrated in sandy creek beds below the Santa Catalina Mountains. They are carefully collected by panning—much like gold panning—then separated through a meticulous, multi-step sifting process to isolate the tiny garnets from the surrounding sand. Their vivid color, durable hardness, and classic locality make them ideal for micro-display vials, gem jars, resin art, inlay work, or as a unique addition to any Arizona mineral collection.
