Cotton Candy Tourmaline, 5.68ct | Barra do Salinas, Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Cotton Candy Tourmaline, 5.68ct | Barra do Salinas, Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Pink Elbaite Tourmaline crystal, with cotton candy bicolor. The core of this crystal is blue with a candy pink exterior, making it a cool-tone berry pink with some color-shifting capability, depending on how it catches the light. The top isn't terminated on this crystal but it's a juicy piece of eye candy, with gemmy clarity and glassy luster. This Tourmaline is from the famous Barra do Salinas locality, it belonged to the late Alvaro Lucio, one of the most well known and accomplished mineral collectors and dealers in Brazil. We were recently able to obtain a small parcel of these delicious cotton-candy Tourmaline crystals from Alvaro Lucio's old stock that had been stored away for many years.
