This rare variety of euhedral (crystalline) Pink Rose Quartz has different physical properties and color origin compared to the anhedral (mass form) Rose Quartz material we usually see. To differentiate the two varieties, euhedral (crystalline) Rose Quartz is also called Pink Quartz, currently both names are accepted in the mineral trade. Pink Rose Quartz mineral specimens occur as late formations in pegmatite pockets, often growing as a second generation of crystals on Smoky Quartz and Milky Quartz, or with other pegmatite minerals such as Tourmaline.
