Welo Opal from Tsehay Mewcha, Wegeltena, Delanta Woreda, South Wollo Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia. This Opal is from the Kok Weha mine, a small deposit that produces gorgeous blue opal. The Kok Weha deposit was recently discovered in the Welo Opal mining district. 

Kok Weha Opal can range from translucent pastels to periwinkle or cornflower blue, with glittering flashes of green, aqua, blue, indigo, lavender, or rainbow pin-fire iridescence. Welo Opal is a stable variety of opal, found only one place in the world, Ethiopia.
