Pink Rose Quartz on Tourmaline, Minas Gerais, Brazil 86.3g
Gorgeous well-crystallized Pink Rose Quartz on Tourmaline. Crystallized Pink Rose Quartz is a rare find, it's even more rare and exciting to find it with this delicious shade of bubblegum pink, with gemmy glassy luster and grown on Tourmaline. This piece is from my personal collection, it was collected about 10 years ago in Taquaral, Itinga, Minas Gerais Brazil. We acquired a small lot of Pink Rose Quartz in 2017 and this was the best piece in the lot.
Pink Rose Quartz occurs as late formations in pegmatite pockets, growing as a second generation of crystals on Smoky Quartz, Milky Quartz, or with other pegmatite minerals such as Tourmaline.

Pink Rose Quartz vs Common Rose Quartz
Pink Quartz or Pink Rose Quartz is a rare euhedral (crystalline) variety of Quartz, it forms terminated crystals and has different physical properties and color origin, compared to common Rose Quartz. Well-crystallized gemmy Pink Rose Quartz mineral specimens are popular with fine mineral collectors.
Common Rose Quartz, anhedral (mass form), doesn't form terminated crystals. Common Rose Quartz is widely available, sold as rough, or shaped and polished into home decor crystals; points, towers, spheres. Or made into cabochons and beads for jewelry making.
To differentiate between the two varieties, euhedral (crystalline) Rose Quartz is also called Pink Quartz or Pink Rose Quartz, both names are accepted in the mineral trade.
